We will travel again, but in the meantime….

To our valued clients, in the wake of everything happening we know you have lots of questions about COVID-19 and whether you can still safely travel.

Given the current situation, many of you have had to put your travel plans on hold. We are in the business of helping people see the world, and experience truly memorable vacations which we  look forward to making possible as soon as things are back to normal and the world has healed.

In light of everything that’s happened, many companies are revising their cancellation policies and deadlines on flights, accommodations, cruises and tours. If you have any questions at all or need any clarification to understand where your current and future travel plans stand, please don’t hesitate to contact us, as it is still a very fluid situation and everything is subject to change.

We highly recommend seeking out information from reputable sources such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Diseases Control (CDC).  The US State Department and the Government of Canada’s Travel & Tourism Department are also providing real-time updates and information on travel restrictions and advisories.

Maybe you’re wondering where it’s safe to travel to and what revised cancellation policies at airlines and cruise companies mean for you. Or maybe you’re wondering whether you can start planning future travel and how travel advisories could impact you. Know that we are here to answer your questions, shed light on the current chaos, and help in any way that we can.

Please hang tight, we look forward to resuming our work in its full capacity as soon as possible. In the meantime, we are still accepting travel inquiries and providing travel itineraries should you wish to start exploring future travel plans.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. As always, I’m here to help, provide expertise, and make your travel plans as stress-free as possible.

COVID-19 has  devastated many industries around the world with travel being the top of the list. Traveling the world as we knew it Pre COVID-19 is going to be very different to POST COVID-19 travel, however not all is negative. Cleanliness will be stepped up 100% and protocols all over the world are being worked on right now so that there is an industry standard and it will be safe to travel again.

On a daily basis I am asked “when will the world open up” unfortunately I do not have an answer for that, my feeling is we will be traveling a little closer to home, driving being a preferred form of travel for now until our confidence level has increased before we start venturing out into the world. This is such a fluid situation predictions cannot be made, we as Travel Agents can only inform and educate our clients, but in the 30 years I have been in this industry never have we experienced  anything like this which does not give anything to pull from and these are virgin waters for us all.

We will however do out best to educate you every step of the way and give clear guidance once we ourselves learn of our “new normal”. Currently our clients are in a holding pattern looking at re booking the end of this year, into 2021 and beyond. Many suppliers are offering a peace of mind when re booking should you have to re book again if a second waive hits, which is re assuring to many, but at the same time scary hence the holding off booking right now.

What we do know is travel has changed, we as an agency are looking at more domestic travel, mainly road trips as well as private villas and transfers, so when you can travel again you are just traveling together and in smaller groups. We deal with many trustworthy suppliers who work hand in hand with us to create the safest experience for our clients.

We know you have a lot of questions, which we are more than happy to answer to the best of our knowledge. Our role is to support, inform, update and educate you. So do not hesitate to reach out to the office, our main office email is info@barefoottravel.ca and we are here to assist you every step of the way!

“As a leader in the travel sector, protecting our advisors and customers–and further our community–has always been top of mind,” states Gregory Luciani, President & CEO of TravelOnly. “After immense research on the best non-medical face masks, we’re proud to begin this partnership with Face Forward, offering the best customizable masks, using the most advanced materials, while donating a portion of the proceeds to Food Banks Canada
Face Forward, a division of Caulfeild Apparel Group Ltd, worked in partnership with a US colleague who specializes in textile application for front line workers and is developing fabrics for NASA to produce the most advanced, non-medical mask available. As a result, Face Forward masks consist of a water repellant polypropylene outer shell, an internal layer of Antimicrobial ACTIVATED CARBON to filter pathogens, and a moisture wicking, comfort cotton liner to keep the wearers face dry and comfortable. Air transfer is further controlled through mouldable nose pieces, diverse size ranges and elasticized ear loops to ensure the perfect fit and maximum protection for everyone from small children to adults.
